Coordinate Canada–US inventory handoffs without losing the shipment context
AM Services coordinates the warehouse and logistics work around inventory moving between Canada and the US, including destination planning, preparation, shipment references, carton information and exception follow-up with the relevant carrier, broker or client team.
A cross-border movement should start with a defined origin, destination and purpose. The warehouse needs to know whether inventory is moving to an Amazon fulfillment centre, another warehouse, a business customer or a different approved destination before it prepares the outbound shipment.
Planning inputs can include:
Origin and destination
SKU and quantity
Marketplace or FBA destination when applicable
Carton or pallet configuration
Required preparation before departure
Carrier or pickup arrangement
Shipment references and timing dependencies
The party responsible for customs and import requirements
Prepare the warehouse and carrier handoff
The warehouse prepares the physical inventory and records the shipment information needed for the agreed logistics workflow. Clear carton data and references reduce the chance that the carrier, broker, destination warehouse and client are working from different versions of the shipment.
Operational handoff information can include:
Final carton or pallet count
Units by carton when required by the workflow
Carton dimensions and weights
Marketplace or destination labels
Carrier or pickup reference
Documents supplied or approved by the responsible client, broker or logistics party
Exceptions that may affect the departure or receiving plan
Keep border responsibilities explicit
AM Services coordinates the operational logistics around the shipment; it is not represented as a customs broker. Customs classification, formal customs declarations, duties, taxes, importer-of-record responsibilities and other regulated border functions must be assigned to the appropriate client, broker, carrier or specialist.
The operating plan should make those responsibilities clear before pickup. Border clearance and carrier transit time can also affect the final delivery schedule, so they should not be represented as warehouse-controlled guarantees.
Share the origin, destination, SKU quantities, carton or pallet profile and the parties handling carrier and customs responsibilities so the warehouse handoff can be mapped correctly.
