Amazon Removal & Rework

Recover usable inventory from Amazon removals with a defined rework plan

AM Services receives Amazon removal inventory, counts and separates units by visible condition, completes approved relabeling, repackaging, bundle correction or other defined rework, and routes suitable stock to FBA, storage or another approved channel.

Receive and sort the removal inventory

Amazon removals do not always arrive as one clean shipment. Units may arrive across multiple cartons or deliveries, and customer-return inventory can differ in packaging or visible condition. The first step is to establish what physically arrived before deciding what can be reused.

Initial removal handling can include:

  • Matching incoming cartons to the removal project
  • Counting received units
  • Identifying the SKU or variant
  • Separating visibly usable, damaged or unresolved units
  • Identifying missing internal packaging or components when visible
  • Keeping inventory that needs a decision out of the normal available stock

Apply the approved rework by condition

Rework is defined around the reason the unit cannot move directly to its next destination. The task can be simple relabeling or a more involved repackaging or bundle correction. The warehouse should not perform unnecessary work on every unit if only part of the removal inventory needs it.

Typical rework can include:

  • Removing or covering obsolete labels when instructed
  • Applying new FNSKU or other approved labels
  • Repacking units into suitable packaging
  • Removing or replacing approved inserts when required
  • Rebuilding multipacks, kits or bundles
  • Correcting agreed prep issues before a new FBA shipment
  • Separating units that remain unsuitable after review

Route usable and non-usable inventory separately

After rework, finished quantities are reconciled before the next handoff. Suitable units can be prepared for FBA, returned to storage or assigned to another approved sales channel. Damaged, incomplete or unresolved units remain separate rather than being mixed into the finished quantity.

Disposal is not assumed. Inventory should only be disposed of, returned or otherwise redirected according to the client’s authorization and the agreed workflow.
