FBA Prep & Labeling

Prepare inventory for Amazon before it reaches the fulfillment center

AM Services prepares inventory to the approved FBA work order, including unit and FNSKU labeling, carton labels, agreed packaging, bundles or multipacks, and final checks before the shipment leaves the warehouse.

Start with the SKU and shipment requirements

FBA prep should start from the exact product and shipment being prepared, not from a generic packaging assumption. The warehouse needs the correct SKU identifiers, quantities, label files and any packaging or bundle instructions before production begins.

Useful inputs include:

  • SKU, ASIN or other product identifier
  • Quantity to prepare
  • FNSKU or unit-label files when required
  • Shipment or carton-label files when available
  • Packaging, multipack or bundle instructions
  • Lot or expiry information when it is part of the required workflow
  • Destination and shipment reference needed for the outbound handoff

Complete the approved prep and labeling

The warehouse completes the physical work defined for the SKU and shipment. Different products can require different prep, which is why the task list should be attached to the work order instead of assumed across the full account.

Typical FBA prep work can include:

  • Applying FNSKU or other approved unit labels
  • Covering or correcting existing identifiers when instructed
  • Applying carton or shipment labels
  • Agreed protective packaging or repackaging
  • Building approved multipacks, kits or bundles
  • Applying required bundle or package identifiers
  • Preparing cartons to the agreed shipment configuration

Check the finished work before outbound

Before the shipment is handed off, prepared inventory is checked against the approved instructions. The purpose is to catch avoidable warehouse errors such as the wrong SKU, wrong label, missing label, incorrect bundle configuration or an unresolved quantity difference before the shipment is already in transit.

Final checks can cover:

  • Product and SKU identity
  • Prepared quantity
  • Label placement and readability
  • Bundle or multipack configuration
  • Packaging condition
  • Carton count and shipment-label match
  • Outstanding exceptions that still need a decision

AM Services prepares the shipment to the defined work order and requirements relevant to the shipment. Final carrier performance and Amazon fulfillment-centre acceptance remain outside the warehouse’s control.
