What is Amazon advertising?
Amazon ads help products and brands appear in shopping and audience environments. Depending on the format and account, campaigns can use keywords, product targets, audiences or placements. Billing may be per click or per thousand impressions; availability and pricing models vary.
Main Amazon ad types
Choose the format for the buying task and account eligibility, then check what is available in the target marketplace.
Sponsored Products
Promote individual product listings, typically with cost-per-click bidding. Keyword and product targeting help connect the offer with relevant shopping activity.
Sponsored Brands
Introduce the brand and selected products through formats such as collections and video. Eligibility, destinations and billing options depend on the campaign objective.
Sponsored Display / display ads
Reach audiences through display placements on Amazon and beyond. Amazon currently calls this offering display ads; targeting and CPC or viewable-impression billing depend on setup.
How Amazon PPC works
In a pay-per-click campaign, an auction determines ad opportunities and a click incurs a charge. A click is not a sale: the shopper still evaluates the product, offer and delivery promise.

Metrics that matter
Use consistent periods and understand the attribution window before comparing results. Ad-attributed sales and total account sales answer different questions.
Spend and ad-attributed sales
Spend is the advertising cost. Attributed sales are purchases credited under the campaign’s attribution rules, which may not match order-date sales reports.
ACOS and TACOS
ACOS is ad spend divided by ad-attributed sales. TACOS compares ad spend with total sales for the same defined business scope and period. Neither is profit.
CPC and CTR
Cost per click is spend divided by clicks. Click-through rate is clicks divided by impressions; it describes response to the ad, not purchase quality.
Conversion rate
The share of the specified traffic measure that leads to orders or purchases. Keep the report and denominator consistent when reviewing changes.
Search terms and organic context
Review what shoppers searched for and compare advertising with total sales and non-ad activity. Do not assume all sales growth came from a campaign.
What AM Services manages
Work follows product priorities and the agreed advertising scope.
Structure and targeting
Organize campaigns; review keyword and product targets, search terms and negative targeting.
Bids, budgets and placements
Adjust spending decisions using performance, product economics and the account’s commercial priorities.
Product prioritization
Identify which offers are ready for advertising and which need stock, listing or offer corrections first.
Performance reporting
Document changes, explain the observed data and define what to measure next.
Advertising does not operate alone
Stock, pricing, Featured Offer status and listing clarity can change the outcome of the same campaign. A launch needs a different review context from an established product. We check these dependencies before treating every performance change as a bidding problem.
The optimization cycle
Make a documented decision, change a defined part of the campaign and review an appropriate measurement window. Avoid repeated adjustments before enough relevant data exists.
